Google is moving to a single domain — what does this mean for you?

Google has announced an update that affects all Search users around the world.
Previously, to get local results, you would go to websites like google.com.ua
, google.fr
, google.com.br
, and so on. These domains were specifically created for individual countries and delivered results tailored to local context.
But now everything has changed. Thanks to new technologies, Google can determine your location and show relevant results — even if you just use google.com
.
🔁 So, over the next few months, traffic from local domains will automatically redirect to google.com.
💡 This will not affect the quality or localization of your search results. Everything will work just as before.
⚙️ You may only need to re-select your language or other Search settings.
❗️Important: Google will continue to comply with the laws of each country, regardless of which domain is being used.
