Automattic removes from WP Engine Tracker's WP ENGINE Customer Information

Automattic responded to the requirements of the court decision, deleting a table containing the names of WP Engine clients from WP Engine Tracker. This was a response to a temporary index, issued in favor of WP Engine, which obliged Automattic and Metta Mullenweg to remove this table within 72 hours.

"The court decision was a giant victory for small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs who rely on open software. This includes the permission of web hostings to accept and not to steal code repositories. I hope that the end result will look the same way."

The conflict between Matto Mullenweg and WP Engine began on September 20, 2024, after WP Engine refused to pay tens of millions of dollars, which, according to WP Engine lawyers, were "reimbursement requirements" in a letter of termination and destruction sent to the main legal advisor Automattic.
