Officially: Adobe Illustrator has reached its middle age. Launched in 1987, this Sunday celebrates the 30th anniversary of Version 1.1, one of the most influential applications of vector graphics of all time.

From the very first incarnation to the latest, Adobe Illustrator has always been a key asset in the designer tool box. He has never been as well -known as his ubiquitous Photoshop brother, Illustrator has swept a generation of designers' quarry. Here is his story, as told Printerinks, so far:
